A brief overview of some of our projects completed in 2016 and 2017
In 2016 TMI Dynamatics was awarded a contract to design, develop and deliver a maritime logistics chain simulator for Transnet's Maritime School of Excellence. The simulator was specified to train port workers in commercial, marine, and terminal operational areas in the Durban port. and focused on the processes and procedures to berth, work and sail a cargo vessel.
British Petroleum South Africa ordered 3 mobile driving simulators to train their 180 Bulk Vehicle Operators. TMI was tasked to design e-learning and driving simulators aligned to BP's standard operating procedures in the Gas and Fuel industry. The e-learning tasks and the simulator assessments supplemented the prerequisite bi-annual in cab assessments. The simulation routes were based on loading fuel at a depot and distributing it to fuel stations. The route also had typical challenges the drivers experienced from day to day.
Drivio is South Africa's first flagship interactive, simulation based, driving school catering to the needs of both learner and professional drivers operating all vehicle types. Drivio is a spin-off from TMI and now trades as a separate entity. With four stores in Gauteng Drivio intends to roll out several franchises across Africa and the Middle East. Visit www.drivio.co.za for more information and franchise opportunities.
As part of South Africa's National Development Plan, TMI Dynamatics was tasked by the South African Department of transport to train 600 final year students in high school, fet colleges and universities to obtain their driving licences. The objective was to determine the value a driving licence carried when applying for a job.
